Now that the Fall 2016 term has settled into a groove it is time to begin planning for the Spring 2017 term.
All registration for the Spring 2017 term will be done in LionPATH, and this will be the case for all future terms. LionPATH is here to stay.
The LDT program currently plans to offer nine courses in Spring 2017 under the LDT and EDTEC course prefixes. Those courses are listed in the table below.
Every LDT certificate and degree program student is encouraged to register for their courses as soon as they become eligible to register.
New Registration Priority and Dates
The implementation of LionPATH has brought about a series of changes to registration policy directed by the University Registrar. The current registration policy used by the university prioritizes students enrolled in degree programs (master or doctorate) first, followed by students in certificate programs and other non-degree categories.
The LDT program faculty and staff would strongly prefer that enrolled certificate and degree students were on equal footing, and we are advocating that view. Certificate students are an important audience in our online learning community. There are many interconnected and moving parts when it comes to change at a large institution, so we will continue to represent our students’ best interests.
Master of Education Students
Registration priority for master or doctoral degree students is determined by the number of credits a student has already earned prior to the start of the current semester. In other words, your “in-progress” credits do not count toward the minimum number needed to register at each of the priority dates.
- Degree students with 36+ credits earned — Registration available on October 12, 2016
- Degree students with 20+ credits earned — Registration available on October 14, 2016
- Admitted degree students with 0+ credits earned — Registration available on October 17, 2016
Certificate and Other Non-degree Categories
Students who have been accepted into a graduate certificate program, including the Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Educational Technology Integration and the new Postbaccalaureate Certificate in e-Learning Design, will be eligible to register for courses on November 2, 2016.
Since all course registration must now be accomplished via LionPATH, and LionPATH controls registration access according to the policies (dates) above, certificate student registration will begin on November 2. There are no alternative means of course registration—students are no longer able to call World Campus for over-the-phone registration, and program staff cannot process manual registration.
