Resume Study – What, why, and how?

Once a student is accepted into a certificate program or admitted into a degree program, the Graduate School at Penn State expects each student to register for one or more courses for every fall term and spring term until that student completes their program. This is known as continuous registration. The summer term(s) are not required for continuous registration, but each and every fall and spring term is required for continuous registration.

What happens if you don’t take a course one fall or one spring semester? If a student does not register for a fall term or a spring term (or more), then s/he will be required to submit a “resume study” application. M.Ed. in LDT Student Handbook

The handbook for our Master of Education in Learning, Design, and Technology degree program is a cornerstone of advisement for all students (master’s and certificate alike). The handbook describes the program, the admissions process (and options), requirements for completing the degree, the process for graduation, and the process for working with your advisor. Summer 2017 Registration Update

Registration for LDT Online Program summer courses is strong, and we are filling quickly. Two courses are full, a few others are filling quickly. Two of the summer-only courses have openings, and those courses top the recommendations for new and continuing M.Ed. students.

If a course that you aimed to take is full, please add yourself to the wait list for that course. The wait list is how we track the unmet needs of students. The larger the wait list, the harder we’re working to help those students get into some course that is good for them.

Please register as soon as possible. Also, we’re in the season where you may also register for your Fall 2017 courses, so why don’t you keep in the groove and register for those courses too!
