First-term and Second-term Students
Students who are starting their study with the LDT Program are encouraged to take one of the following three courses in Fall 2019:
- LDT 415A – Systematic Instructional Development
- LDT 467 – Emerging Web Technologies and Learning
- LDT 401 – Gaming 2 Learn
Note that courses for certificates and degrees in the LDT Program may be taken in any order, and that the program does not enforce prerequisites for students who are accepted/admitted into a certificate or degree program.
400-level Courses
Reminder to those who are in the Master of Education in LDT Program, or who are considering a future transition to the M.Ed. program: With our 30-credit master’s degree program, the Graduate School at Penn State requires a minimum of 18 credits (6 courses) be coded at the 500 or 800 level. We’ve described the difference between 500- and 800-level courses elsewhere on this blog. This requirement thus limits our students to taking no more than 12 credits (4 courses) of 400-level courses. Given that two 400-level courses are required for the M.Ed. program (LDT 415A and LDT 467), students can freely choose up to two additional 400-level courses to be applied to their progress toward the master’s degree.
LionPATH for Registration
Students register for courses via LionPATH. All students must complete the Pre-Registration Activity Guide every term prior to registering for courses. The link to the PRAG is found under the student’s To-Do List in LionPATH.
