Students enrolled in the M.Ed. in LDT program who have completed 15 or more credits are invited to enroll in our new edition of LDT 835 — Supervised Field Experience in Online Instruction. This edition of LDT 835 is geared for those with interest in learning design for online resources as it occurs in corporate, commercial, organizational, and higher education environments. The description offers additional insight:
This course will help students gain insight into many aspects of how a professional and innovative learning design organization functions. Topics will include:
- key skill sets to being an effective instructional designer,
- the landscape of online and blended learning today,
- online course development from initiation to delivery,
- innovating within an organization,
- developing a professional network and benchmarking, and
- doing learning design with a team.
Students will engage with professionals in a variety of roles typical of a learning design organization including instructional designers, multimedia developers, and programmers, and will have the opportunity to see how designers engage with faculty throughout a real development cycle.

Note: Students who are enrolled in the Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Teaching and Learning Online in K-12 Settings (TLOK12) will continue to take our original, K-12 oriented version of this course.
