The Learning, Design, and Technology Program offers a set of fully online degree and certificate programs delivered via Penn State World Campus. All of our courses are taught by the same faculty who teach and research in the LDT Program at our University Park campus. All of our degree programs are the same online as they are on campus—right down to the paper that graduates’ diplomas are printed on. Our programs appeal to current educators, instructional designers, learning engineers, and learning design professionals working in corporate, K-12 education, higher education, nonprofit, and military settings.

Course Descriptions
The LDT Program faculty assembled a set of course descriptions, as well as an interactive table for displaying which courses are applicable to the degree or a certificate.
Master of Education Degree
Our 30-credit Master of Education in Learning, Design, and Technology degree is the flagship of our online offerings. The majority of our students balance full-time careers with part-time studies and complete the degree by taking one or two courses per semester. Those professionals with additional time during the summer sometimes opt to take more courses in the summer semester. We also have students who complete the LDT MEd degree by taking more than two courses at a time.
Postbaccalaureate Certificates
The vast majority of students who study with us first enroll in one of our postbaccalaureate certificate programs. These 12- to 15-credit certificates are almost half of a master’s degree, as all credits/courses completed in one of our certificate programs transfer directly to our degree program. We offer two postbaccalaureate certificate programs:
- Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Educational Technology Integration (15 credits) and
- Postbaccalaureate Certificate in e-Learning Design (12 credits)
