Congrats, everyone, on reaching the end of the semester! And a special congrats to all who are completing the program: This is a wonderful accomplishment! We hope you all enjoy a restful break.

If you haven’t signed up for classes for next semester, be sure to do so as as soon as possible. See my previous post (below) for information about registering through LionPath, checking in with (or introducing yourself to) your advisor, and general reminders about noting your intent to graduate at the start of the semester if you are planning for a Spring 2023 graduation.

One important announcement: We’ll run our unique LDT program SARI training from January 25th through February 15th for those who wish to complete the requirement this way. We’ll send out a sign-up email the first week of the semester (although you can register here, too).  See my previous post about SARI requirements below: The SARI requirement can be satisfied in a number of ways, so this training is just one of a few options to give you as much flexibility as possible.

Be sure to check our course offerings here, ensuring you’re selecting Spring 2023 semester and World Campus as your campus and choosing LDT as your subject. That will give you the most accurate rendering of our current course selection in case there are any changes.

Be sure to note all deadlines, including the intent to graduate period, last day to register, when classes begin, and more here.

And, as a good rule of thumb, check in with your advisor about your course selection to make sure you are on track to meet all requirements for your degree–see below for a refresher!

For Masters Students: Completion of the Degree

You will complete the M.Ed. in LDT degree when all of the following have been certified by the program coordinator:

1. Completion of 30 credits (10 courses) of coursework

1. 1. LDT 415A, LDT 467, and LDT 527 are required
   2. No more than four total 400-level courses may be counted toward the degree
   3. 18+ credits completed in courses at the 500- or 800-level
   4. Cumulative GPA as a graduate student of 3.00 or higher
2. SARI Training Requirement: See information about SARI requirements here.
3. Capstone Portfolio

1. 1. The Capstone Portfolio will be supervised by your assigned faculty academic advisor and completed near the end of your coursework in the M.Ed. in LDT degree program. See the Documents page for current guidelines.

4. Intent to Graduate

1. 1. At the beginning of the term when you intend to graduate you must notify the university in LionPATH of your intent to graduate. This initiates the comprehensive review process that ultimately certifies that all requirements have been satisfied and that your degree may be conferred at the end of the term.
   2. If you are planning to graduate in the summer: Remember to notify your advisor early, as many faculty are not around during summer and may require that capstones be finished early. So please check-in with your advisor and devise a shared plan.
