Summer 2016 Registration Begins

There will be plenty more snow to come this winter season, and yet here we are preparing for summer! Summer 2016 registration opens to everyone—certificate students, degree students, and the general public—on Wednesday, February 3, 2016.

All LDT Programs’ students are encouraged to register for courses as soon as they are eligible, and on February 3 all certificate and degree students are eligible. Please remember that payment is not due at time of registration, so it is best to register for the courses you need at the time when they have openings. Registering early also allows the LDT Program to explore additional offerings for courses when courses fill quickly.

We hope that your Spring 2016 semester is progressing well, and we look forward to seeing you in the summer.

Summer 2016 Courses – Registration Dates and Offerings

Registration for Summer 2016 courses will be open:

  • Tuesday, February 2, 2016 — For all admitted LDT Master’s Degree (M.Ed.) students
  • Wednesday, February 3, 2016 — For all admitted postbaccalaureate certificate students -and- for the general public

Please remember: Payment is not due at the time of registration. Register first, and pay when the bill arrives from Penn State. We encourage all of our certificate and degree students to register for courses as soon as they are eligible.

If a course that you seek is full, is not yet available to register, or is not offered, please complete our LDT Course Wait List form to help us gauge our student’s needs for courses.

Announcing our renewed Ed Tech Integration course! (EDTEC 440)

The LDT Program is pleased to announce a completely renewed course offering. The EDTEC 440 – Educational Technology Integration course has received a complete makeover, and will be delivered during the Summer 2016 semester. The Summer 2016 course will be 10 weeks long, delivered May 11 to July 20, 2016. The course is scheduled to be offered during the summers during the next few years.

The 440 course will facilitate students’ exploration of principles and best practices for the integration of technologies, particularly learning technologies, into a variety of learning environments in K-12, university, workplace, community, and military settings. Coursework includes contemporary readings about the academic and practical considerations of technology integration for learning, weekly assignments to apply and analyze technology integration topics, and course projects where students will prepare technology integration blueprints for technologies and settings of their choosing.

Because 440 is a complete revision, it will be available for registration by April 1. In the meantime, LDT students interested in taking the course are asked to fill-out the LDT Course Wait List. Those who submit their interest to the wait list will be contacted as soon as 440 is available for registration.

eLion to LionPATH – Notes for Students

LionPATH AnnouncementPenn State University is rolling out a new integrated management system called LionPATH. This new product will eventually replace eLion, and eLion’s back-end known as the Integrated Student Information System. Students will begin using LionPATH for all registration and financial functions in Fall 2016. Admissions for Fall 2016 and beyond are already being managed by LionPATH.

There will be much documentation about LionPATH distributed to students. Anyone curious for a sneak peek can visit the Project LionPATH Online Library for tutorials and help documentation.

We ask that students review the messages and publications that are shared with them as we approach the full LionPATH rollout date. As the LDT program learns details that are of particular interest to our students, we will share them, starting with the items below:
