Greetings LDT students! Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the university runs, our courses run, and our students continue to prepare for the next steps of their professional careers. We salute each of our students and look forward to celebrating their accomplishments as they complete their programs of study.
Our Summer 2021 lineup of courses is now available, and registration for Summer 2021 began March 25.
Here are the upcoming registration timetables, including Summer and Fall 2021:

We have adjusted our Summer 2021 course offerings to align with recent student enrollment trends. We’ve heard that many students intend to take a break from their studies during the Summer 2021 term, and plan to resume in Fall 2021. With that insight, we will offer more courses in Fall 2021 to accommodate the predicted demand.

Course Registration
Please register for your courses online via LionPATH. Remember, each student must complete the Pre-Registration Activity Guide in LionPATH every term before having status to register. Our summer courses have start dates of May 10 or May 17 (see table above), and all courses are accessible on their start date via Penn State’s Canvas course management system.
Course Selection Help
If you need to take a course other than those listed here, please contact your assigned academic advisor and also copy Dr. Kirby on your message. Together we will figure out the best option for you for the Summer 2021 term. We will gauge demand and attempt to accommodate student needs. As you can see in the registration timetable above, registration for Fall 2021 courses opens relatively soon, so when that final schedule is posted we can add that to each student’s strategy.
New Student Course Selection
Students who are new, or recently admitted/accepted into, the M.Ed. in LDT or EDTECH programs should take LDT 440 this summer.
Students who are new, or recently accepted into the ELEARN certificate should take LDT 832 or ADTED 531 this summer.
Students who are new, or recently accepted into the TLOK12 certificate should take the LDT 433 course this summer.
Advanced M.Ed. Students
M.Ed. in LDT students who have completed 15 or more credits should take LDT 835 this summer. This offering is the higher education and corporate edition of the “Supervised Field Experience in Online Instruction” course. Learn more about LDT 835 here.
