07/23/2015 by Josh Kirby

Here is a PDF document providing the guidelines of the academic capstone portfolio for students who are enrolled in the 30-credit M.Ed. in LDT program.

  • If you are a postbaccalaureate certificate student, this information is FYI unless you plan to apply for and be admitted to the M.Ed. program anytime this point forward.
  • If you are currently enrolled in the 33-credit M.Ed. in LDT—Ed Tech Option degree program, and you intend to complete the program as outlined when you enrolled, this portfolio information is FYI only. If you intend to change your program from the 33-credit to the 30-credit M.Ed., there are details you must know presented below.

For the 30-credit M.Ed. in LDT program students:

  • Review these guidelines and note the due dates.
  • Be sure to communicate your intended three projects for your portfolio with your advisor well in advance of your expected final submission.
  • The guidelines were intended to maintain consistent expectations for the M.Ed. portfolio while allowing flexibility to students and advisors.

Registration priority dates for Spring 2016 courses

07/15/2015 by Josh Kirby

Students at Penn State who have advanced standing in a graduate program are able to register for courses earlier than the general student population. The registration priority dates indicate when students who have previously earned credits are able to register for their next courses. The more credits a student has earned, the earlier the student can get into their next courses, which is particularly helpful for students who are approaching degree completion and graduation.

For courses offered during the Spring 2016 semester:

  • Students who have earned 20 or more credits (not including any in-progress credits) are able to register on Tuesday, October 13, 2015.
  • Students who have earned 9 or more credits (not including any in-progress credits) are able to register on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
  • Any student (including those with zero to 8 credits earned) is able to register on Tuesday, October 27, 2015.

World Campus students must follow the typical course registration procedures:

  • eLion – for students currently enrolled with, and taking courses through, World Campus
  • 800-252-3592 – for students who have been accepted into a LDT online program but who are taking their first course or who are returning after an absence

As always, questions about the proper method to register can be directed to the LDT online programs support staff at 814-865-0473.

Penn State College of Education Apparel for Sale

07/15/2015 by Josh Kirby

One of the best qualities about earning a degree from the Learning, Design, and Technology Program is that a Penn State degree is a Penn State degree regardless of the campus where it was earned. Our World Campus students are our students, and they are students of the College of Education. There is plenty of Penn State gear floating around the world, but Penn State College of Education gear is a more specialized category of items. Luckily the College of Education’s Alumni Society has an online store to make these items available to everyone. Items available include men’s shirts and women’s shirts (dress, polo, and multiple styles of t-shirts), fleece pullovers, hats, stickers, and water bottles. You are a Penn Stater—wear your pride!
