Farewell from Dr. Kirby

08/16/2021 by Josh Kirby

Headshot of Joshua Kirby, former coordinator of LDT Online Programs

Dear LDT Online Students:

The past 6.5 years has offered me the opportunity to engage with amazing students who come to the Learning, Design, and Technology Online Programs from many different professions, locations, and walks of life. I’ve had the gift of being a professor and advisor of people who make positive change in their workplace, community, school, and family. I’ve written many letters of reference and given many reference phone calls. And I’ve been able to advise many on advancing their career paths to new opportunities for influencing education and training systems in need of their attention. I have enjoyed working with our committed and conscientious students and will revel in their accomplishments as they begin to stack in the upcoming years.

It is also time for me to grow into a new career path, and I am excited for my next steps.

LDT Online and Coping with COVID-19

04/01/2020 by Josh Kirby

The expectations for the month of April 2020 have now changed. No matter the age, the family situation, the employment, or the health concerns, the next 30 days for the USA, and the world, will largely be affected by what we each do in our actions and behaviors. If we can physically distance ourselves, we should do that. If you are essential personnel and you must be on the move, then please be safe. And with grocery trips taking on a new significance and level of planning, we now must temporarily think carefully about everything we do.

While much of the world is being introduced to online learning, our LDT Online Programs continue to deliver its courses and services to students. [Read more…]

Self-Help with Search

10/21/2019 by Josh Kirby

Search this website search box is available on right-side column of every page on this blog site.

The majority of LDT Online students are employed, engaged with other commitments, and also study with us part-time. Much of our students’ work happens outside of normal work hours. Although help from a program faculty or staff member might not be readily available at 11:35 PM, your program questions may still get answered. Use the search box on the blog for student to see what happens. Try a few keywords like “advisement” or “graduation” or SARI or capstone and see what hits in the search results. Also visit the pages that are linked across the top menu of our blog, such as LDT Courses or New Student Info or Documents.

Dr. Kirby aims to write and post answers to the most pressing questions facing every student. See what you can find!
