Welcome to the Fall 2021 term! For our incoming students students, this marks the start of something new, and we welcome you. For our continuing students, we applaud your perseverance and we are ready to support you as you press forward with your career development.
Fall 2021 Courses
LDT Online courses begin the morning of Monday, August 23rd, 2021. All courses are delivered via Canvas, found at https://psu.instructure.com. If you visit Canvas prior to August 23rd, you likely will not see your Fall 2021 courses, but they will become visible on August 23rd.
We have adjusted our course offerings in order to align with the current needs of our students. Here’s the updated lineup for Fall:

Greetings students, one and all! We hope that you are having a comfortable, safe, and relaxing summertime—either now, or sometime soon. The summer is proceeding quickly—don’t forget to take time for yourself. At the time of posting there are only 6 weeks remaining before the Fall 2021 courses begin on Monday, August 23.
We have just admitted a healthy number of new students to our degree and certificate programs. We welcome these new students, and we are encouraged that many students are returning their focus to their professional development and preparation for the ever-changing trends in education and training.

Fall 2021 Registration Launch
Although it seems like forever until Fall courses begin, now is the time to register for them. All LDT students are now eligible to register for Fall 2021 courses—degree, certificate, and professional development students alike. Head over to LionPATH, complete your Pre-Registration Activity Guide (as you must do before every term), and register for fall. Remember, your bill for Fall 2021 courses will not come due until later in the summer, so you can register now to reserve your spot in your preferred courses and pay closer to the fall.

New Course Fall 2021: Learning Technologies for Good and Evil
Many courses about learning technology focus on how it can be harnessed for good. LDT 843 – Learning Technologies for Good and Evil starts from the assumption that good outcomes of new technology for education and society are never guaranteed but rather that the use of technology for learning, or any other purpose, always entails ethical tensions—a struggle between “good” and “evil.” The course provides a practical angle on these issues for learning technology designers, educators, and researchers. Greetings LDT students! Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the university runs, our courses run, and our students continue to prepare for the next steps of their professional careers. We salute each of our students and look forward to celebrating their accomplishments as they complete their programs of study.
Our Summer 2021 lineup of courses is now available, and registration for Summer 2021 began March 25.
Professional Instructional Design Field Experience
In partnership with the World Campus Learning Design, the LDT faculty are happy to offer a special edition of the LDT 835 – Supervised Field Experience in Online Instruction specifically for students interested in learning more about the design of instructional resources in a corporate or higher education setting. Students with interests in other educational arenas, such as K-12 schools, are also welcome to take the course if they are interested in learning about design processes outside of their usual context.
